mapping lifelines of my family
A handmade window frame resembles one from aeroplane
is suspended about 1m high, and B/W image is projected
vertically onto a floor. The origin of image is of slowly animated
magnified palms of my family, ranging from 2 yrs-old niece to
82 yrs-old grandmother. The image is suggested to be look down
through the window to explore shifts in perspectives between
macroscopic and microscopic points of view.
2歳の赤ん坊から82歳の祖母まで、家族の手のひらの生命線を一本に
つなげた白黒の動画を床にループで映写している。観客は、天井から
吊るされた航空機の窓を通して、または他方より自由に映像を見下ろす。
上空から見下ろすマクロな地上の風景が、手のひらのミクロな生景へと凝縮され、
シンクロし、振動する。日常の流れに距離を置いたとき、また視点の、
立ち位置の変化によって新たな世界観が浮かびあがり意識される瞬間や
体験を暗示している。
