A mirror is placed to intervene into the existing element of the space,
where used to be a public toilet. The looped image of progressing
tunnel journey is projected from behind the mirror through a tiny hole
in the middle. The image appears directly onto a body of viewer when
approached in close proximity. As the viewer finds himself in the mirror,
the viewer will also find himself in multiple standing points - the beginning,
the middle and the end of journey. Without such bodily interaction,
the emitted image would remain as a diffusing light in the space.
大型の鏡を、展示スペースとなった空間の既存要素に調和させるように設置。
鏡の中心にある小さな穴を通して、裏側より映像を投影。一見、点のような光りに
近づくと観客の身体・胸部付近に、トンネル内を前進する映像が浮かび上がる。
向かい合う実像＝現在と鏡像=未来の間で旅路は留まることなく前進する。
入口に立つ自分を、出口で待っているのもまた鏡の中の自分である。
見知らぬ土地へ行こうと、そこで出会うのは他ならぬ未知の自分自身である
という体験や認識が作品の土台となっている。ある一定の距離内に近寄らない
限り、映像は気づかれぬまま空間に拡散する光に留まる。
